The key to determining whether a hair product is good for your hair or not, especially if you have curly hair, is to look at the ingredients.

Suave Sulfate-Free Shampoo

If you take at Suave’s long list of products, you’ll see several different shampoos. However, most of them contain silicones, sulfates, and other ingredients that those with curly hair try to avoid.

However, there is one that was specifically designed to be free of sulfates.

This Professionals Natural Shampoo  can clean the hair gently so that the natural oils that your scalp produces aren’t stripped off as they would have with other sulfate-containing shampoos.

Apart from being free of sulfate, it contains various good ingredients for curly hair such as coconut oil. Coconut oil is very good for all hair types, but especially for naturally curly hair.

If you take at Suave’s long list of products, you’ll see several different shampoos. However, most of them contain silicones, sulfates, and other ingredients that those with curly hair try to avoid.

It has antimicrobial properties to prevent dandruff, helps prevent protein loss so that hair is stronger and doesn’t break easily, and it helps seal in moisture.

Another good ingredient that it contains is shea butter. This is a nourishing ingredient for the hair and it also greatly helps seal in moisture. It can be used to reduce frizz too

Cocamidopropyl betaine is another ingredient in Suave Professioanls Natural shampoo. Usually, the sulfate-free product contains this ingredient as a substitute. It is said to be gentler than sulfate ingredients but there are still some that could develop irritation due to it.

Although this shampoo isn’t 100% natural, it could still be a good option because of its moisturizing properties. It is a gentler cleanser that won’t strip the hair of its natural oils to prevent damage.

Good Ingredients From Suave Hair Products For Natural Hair

Apart from the shampoo, there are other products  that could be used for those with naturally curly hair. The key here is to look at the ingredient list. Although suave may claim that they have formulated it for natural hair, it is still up to you to decide whether it is good for your hair.

Here are some of the good ingredients from their hair products for curly hair:

1. Castor Oil

Castor oil is popular when it comes to hair products because it promotes healthy hair growth. It is packed with nutrients, proteins, vitamins, and antioxidants that help deal with the irritated scalp, and make hair smooth, strong, and moisturized.

2. Mango Butter

Mango butter is the other main ingredient in their line of hair care products. It is great for the hair because of the vitamin E and A content.

Both are great for strengthening the hair to prevent damage like split ends.

3. Jojoba Oil

Another oil that is quite popular in hair care products is Jojoba oil. It doesn’t only help nourish your hair with the minerals and vitamins that it contains but it helps soothe the scalp as well.

4. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is good for improving hair growth. With this, the blood flow is improved in the scalp so that your hair could grow healthier.

5. Soybean Oil

This oil has antioxidant properties that are quite beneficial to both the hair and scalp. It helps make sure hair is moisturized so it looks shiny and healthy.

Questionable Ingredients In Suave Hair Products For Natural Hair

Although they have lots of good ingredients that will benefit those with naturally curly hair. There can be ingredients that may not be so good for the hair. Some people can tolerate them but others might not.

Parfum

Suave is known for producing great-smelling products. But that often means added fragrances, and those fragrances could cause negative effects. The exact ingredients of the fragrances aren’t often listed, so you don’t know what you’re adding to your hair.

Silicone

Another common ingredient that you’ll see in their line of products is dimethicone, which is a type of silicone. One of the reasons why those with curly hair try to avoid this ingredient is because it can cause buildup on the hair.

Further down the line, it could cause dryness. However, a way to remedy the possible buildup is to use a clarifying shampoo.
