Many of us would love to have thicker and fuller eyelashes. It’s one of the things we focus on when we do our makeup, which is why we have lots of mascara and fake eyelashes manufacturers.

However, makeup and fake lashes will only create an illusion of thicker and fuller eyelashes. What if there was a way to naturally grow your eyelashes, would you do it?

Argan oil is known in the beauty industry for improving hair, but is argan oil good for eyelashes too? The answer here is yes. Argan oil is great for hair and your eyelashes too because it is packed with nutrients.

Let’s tell you more about argan oil and its effect on your eyelashes.

Is Argan Oil Good For Eyelashes

Argan oil is extracted from the nuts of the argan tree. Many brands produce this and it can be used as an ingredient or purely for skin care and hair care.

The reason for this is that it contains lots of antioxidants, fatty acids, and vitamin E that are all beneficial not only to the skin and hair but also to your eyelashes. Here are a few reasons why argan oil is great for your eyelashes.

The reason for this is that it contains lots of antioxidants, fatty acids, and vitamin E that are all beneficial not only to the skin and hair but also to your eyelashes.

Prevents Loss Of Eyelashes

To help keep your lashes fuller, it would be best to prevent them from falling off. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant That helps fight off the oxidative stress that the skin and hair are exposed to.

Oxidative stress leads to free radical damage and could cause hair breakage. With antioxidants, present, premature breakage of hair is avoided.

It helps strengthen the eyelashes so that they can continuously grow. That doesn’t only mean that you’ll have fuller lashes but you’d also have long lashes because they don’t easily break.

But remember that the maximum length of your eyelashes would still be affected by your genetics.

Wonderful Moisturizer

Another great reason to use argan oil on your eyelashes is because of its moisturizing and hydrating properties. Eyelashes need to be moisturized too for them to grow healthily.

One of the best things about argan oil is its fatty acid content. This is a substance that helps keep the hair follicles moisturized. Among the fatty acids that it contains are palmitic, oleic, linoleic, and stearic acids.

The oleic acid will help with the regulation of sebum production on the eyelids. That will be beneficial for the hair follicles of the eyelashes, which are responsible for growing the hair. That means that healthier lashes will grow and hair loss could be prevented.

The linoleic on the other hand helps with follicle health by improving skin cell turnover. This helps prevents the hair follicles from being clogged by dead skin cells.

Both the stearic and palmitic acid act as emollients. Emollients are substances that help retain moisture. Both of these work on the hair follicles to keep them moisturized.

How To Use Argan Oil On Eyelashes

Applying argan oil on your eyelashes is easy and simple to do. All you need is to have high-quality pure argan oil, a small bowl, cotton swabs, an eyelash comb, or a clean mascara wand.

It would be best to do this at night so that you could give ample time for the argan oil to work on your eyelashes. The first thing you should do is to dispense a few drops of argan oil in a small bowl.

If you have a clean mascara tube, you can use that and dispense some of the argan oil there. You then use a cotton swab to get some of the dispensed oil and gently stroke it over your lashes.

Make sure to do this carefully and gently to avoid getting the swab into your eyes. Apply the oil on your eyelashes evenly and leave it overnight.

The next morning, you can wash your eyes with water. This could be done daily to help improve your lashes.

Precautions While Using  Argan Oil On Lashes

Is it your first time using argan oil? If so, then you should first test it out to see if you are allergic to it. Doing a patch test is the best way to go about using any new product.

A patch test helps you determine if your body reacts negatively to argan oil. This is a simple test that involves applying a small amount of argan oil to the skin behind your ears.

Leave the oil there for 24 hours and see if any irritation develops. If not, then you could proceed to use the argan oil on your eyelashes.

Although you may not be allergic to argan oil, it is still best to be careful during the application as you do not want the oil to get into your eyes. The eyes are sensitive.

To lessen the risk of applying argan oil to your eyes, you should not apply or get a lot of product on your cotton swab. Make sure that you remove the excess so it isn’t dripping.

When choosing argan oil to use on your eyelashes, make sure that you select pure argan oil . Some oils contain a small amount of argan oil and are blended with other oils.

You are only going to use a little amount at a time so it is best to use the pure once even if it could be more expensive than the blended oils. That way, you’ll get to see results.

Just don’t expect results to happen immediately. It takes time to see some improvement. You’d have to wait for about 8 weeks of regular use for some improvement.

Also, take note that it may not drastically change the appearance of your eyelashes. People’s eyelashes grow differently because genetics plays a part in it. Argan oil will help boost growth but will not affect the limits set by your genetics.
