A lot of us love the look of our skin when we have a golden tan. But it’s not always safe and easy to do this when we’re out in the summer sun. And that’s why self-tanning sprays, mousses, and tanning waters have become popular, along with spray tans.

Tanologist is one of the top brands out there, with a stellar lineup of tanning products.

So, what’s the difference between Tanologist mousse vs water?

What if you could have a mess-free glow, without having to deal with blocked pores, skin dryness, or that horrible smell that can occur? What if you could get the results of a spray tan in a bottle… without having to follow a color guide?

Well, now you can with Tanologist Express Self Tan Mousse  and Sunless Self Tanning Water .

In this article, we take on Tanologist mousse and water so that you can decide what will be best for you. We love the mousse… but the tanning water is so nice and clean!

Tanologist Mousse vs Water

Deciding on whether you want to use Tanologist mousse or its water product will depend on what your preference is, and in this article we’re going to try and help you decide just that.

They are both applied in the same way and offer the same amazing result, which on average will last for about five days to a full week. However, many users prefer using Tanologist water to get their golden glow on.

This is probably be down to the fact that Tanologist water dries and develops faster than Tanologist mousse.

And since both easy-to-apply and streak-free formulas already contain hydrating compounds, this could be the reason why most users prefer using the water vs the mousse.

So, first, let’s take a closer look at Tanologist mousse…

Tanologist Mousse: The Deep Dive

Tanologist Mousse

Tanologist’s Express Self Tan Mousse is a water-to-foam formulation that gives a long-lasting and streak-free tan that won’t transfer onto fabrics or clog your pores.

It comes in three colors — Light Glow, Medium Tan and Deep Bronze. So you can achieve a quick, easy, and mess-free glow that will match your natural skin tone within hours.

This innovative self tanning mousse is packed with vitamin E, and extracts of aloe vera and calendula flower to soothe and hydrate, pink grapefruit to brighten the tone, goji berry, which acts as a powerful antioxidant, and juniper berry, which works to even out your skin tone.

Many of these ingredients are also organic.

Tanologist mousse also contains castor oil to help skin stay feeling even more hydrated while your tan develops. And you can match your natural skin tone to the closest shade, then wait one to four hours for the tan to develop.

How long you keep Tanologist mousse on before you rinse it off in the shower will determine how dark your skin gets, and it will evenly fade after about a week, just like a normal suntan would.

How long you keep Tanologist mousse on before you rinse it off in the shower will determine how dark your skin gets, and it will evenly fade after about a week, just like a normal suntan would.

So, for example, for a slight glow, you’d leave it on for an hour. For a deeper tan, you’d probably wait for four. If you want to go all out with a maximum bronze, you can leave it on overnight before showering in the morning, although be aware that it can stain your bedsheets and nightwear.

Once rinsed off though, Tanologist mousse won’t transfer any stain to your clothing.

And the hydrating mousse will leave your skin feeling moisturized without the traditional tanner stink, because of its fresh eucalyptus scent.

And just like all Tanologist products, the mousse is suitable for those with sensitive skin, and they’re dermatologically approved and vegan.

Tanologist Water: A Closer Look

Tanologist Water

The original clear self tan in a bottle, Tanologist Express Self Tanning Water  is a transparent formula that can be used on both your face and body.

Again, it comes in three shades — Light Glow, Medium Tan, and Deep Bronze, which work the same way as the mousse as far as timing is concerned.

What makes Tanologist self-tanning water different though, is the fact that it is very fast drying. So fast in fact, that you can spray it on, wait a couple of minutes for it to dry, and get dressed without worrying about it ruining your clothes!

Then simply observe your tan developing through the day.

What makes Tanologist self-tanning water different though, is the fact that it is very fast drying.

This tanning water contains Tanologist’s signature formulation of aloe vera, pink grapefruit, goji berry and juniper, and you can even store it in the refrigerator to give your face and body a refreshing spritz after you shower.

Remember the ‘Screen!

The one thing to remember when you’re going to use any Tanlogist product is that a sunless tan does not provide any sun protection!

This means that even though your skin may look beautifully tanned after using the mousse or water, it won’t be protected from sun exposure or when using tanning beds.

There’s no base tan, and sunlight will actually degrade your fake tan quicker.

Therefore, you’ll need to wear sunscreen on your skin in order to avoid being burned by sun exposure, as well as to lessen the risk of skin cancer and aging your skin unnecessarily.

Tanologist itself also recommends that you do a patch test at least 24 hours before using its mousse, and it should never be applied to any skin that is broken or irritated.

You should also make sure that you keep the mousse away from your eyes, and wash your hands after you apply it.

If by any chance you have a reaction after following these rules, then you should stop using the product and seek advice from your doctor or physician.

Water Works

Will you get the same effect using Tanologist water that you will with Tanologist mousse? Well, basically both products will help you to achieve the glow you want on your skin due to their innovative self-tanning formulas.

If you haven’t yet tried a tanning water, you should certainly give it a go. We’re big fans of tanning water in general, they’re just easier and more fun to use and result in less mess.

The mousse is great, but in some ways, it’s older technology. It’s reliable, and many of us are familiar with tanning mousses and know what to expect. If you’re up for something new, the tanning water is the way to go!
