A Lash Lift: The Trick To Making Your Lashes Pop

A lash lift is a great way to make your eyelashes look longer. It doesn’t matter how long or short they naturally are. Lash lifts provide a more natural appearance of longer or fuller lashes than lash extensions.

And compared to lash extensions, lash lifts are lower-maintenance.

Oh, how wonderful it would be if our eyelashes were naturally curled upwards!

There are a few who have naturally curled lashes. But most of us have straight or downward ones.

The problem with our natural lashes is that they aren’t noticeable at their current angle. When the eyelashes are curled, they look longer and fuller.

They also help open up your eyes.

Eyelash curlers are great tools to achieve that look, whether they are heated curlers or regular ones. However, they are a temporary solution. Even if you use mascara, they won’t stay that way after you wash off your makeup.

A lash lift is a perfect rescue for this scenario. If you are tired of curling your lashes all the time, this is a great solution.

With a lash lift, the eyelashes are curled from the base. This makes their full length more noticeable.

Many have described it as a mini-perm for the eyelashes.

Don’t worry about getting the solution inside your eyes because it will be closed. They will put a shield on your eyelids so they can properly curl your eyelashes with the lifting solution.

Can You Wear Mascara After A Lash Lift?

Mascara

The results from the lash lift procedure will usually last for up to eight weeks. In order to make sure that it lasts for as long as possible, you need to know how to properly care for it.

Using mascara is not an issue after a lash lift. However, you must use the right type of mascara, and use it at the right time.

Here are the do’s and don’ts for mascara.

1. The First 24 Hours

The first 24 hours after getting your lash lift are crucial to the longevity of the results. After the procedure is done, you should not get it wet. Keep it as dry as possible.

That means you should avoid washing the area or even producing sweat that could reach the area. Just postpone the strenuous exercises after the first 24 hours, and if you need to shower, consider shower goggles

Additionally, you shouldn’t be touching it. If you need to touch them to keep them separated, fluffy, and tangle-free, use an eyelash spoolie.

If you plan to use mascara on your lashes, don’t within the 24-hour initial period. Let it set first. It is best to don’t touch it and keep it dry.

2. No Waterproof Mascara

After the first 24 hours, you can use mascara on them. However, you should carefully select the right mascara to use. Avoid using waterproof mascara.

Waterproof mascara is known to be challenging to remove. They are formulated that way so that you can keep them on your eyelashes for longer periods of time.

That’s awesome!

However, when used on eyelashes that went through a lash lift, you’ll run into trouble when you remove the waterproof eyelashes.

3. Avoid Oil-Based Makeup Removers

To remove waterproof mascara efficiently, you need a makeup remover that has oil in it. That oil isn’t good for the lifted eyelashes. It could weaken the effects of the procedure.

Even if you tried a non-oil-based makeup remover to remove waterproof mascara, then you may end up rubbing the waterproof mascara off with other cleansers. That’s not good either.

Rubbing your lifted eyelashes is not healthy for them.

4. Use Water-Based Mascara

The best thing to do is to not use waterproof mascara at all. Just use regular water-based mascara  if you need to add more volume or length.

How Long After A Lash Lift Can I Wear Mascara?

You should wait to start wearing mascara for at least 24 hours after your lash lift. That’s because you shouldn’t be touching or getting the newly lifted eyelashes. That will help make sure that the results last longer.

During the first 24 hours, you should not be getting your eyelashes wet or touching them. That is why it isn’t a good idea to use mascara for the first 24 hours.

Additionally, you‘ll have a problem removing them when you use mascara. Remember that you should always remove your makeup whenever you use them.

How To Remove Mascara After a Lash Lift

To remove a non-waterproof mascara, use a water-based makeup remover. Apply some of this on a clean cotton pad. Then gently press the soaked cotton pad over your eyelashes.

Let the cotton pad stay on over your eyelashes for a few seconds, then slowly wipe your eyelashes with the pad in a downward motion.

Do this gently so you don’t ruin your lashes.

Repeat soaking and wiping the lashes until you completely remove all of the mascara.

Using waterproof mascara isn’t the only way to ruin your lifted eyelashes. If you tend to rub your eyes, you are most likely to lose the effect of the lifting procedure prematurely.

As mentioned, it should be kept away from water for the first 24 hours. You could extend that for up to 48 hours to make sure the solution isn’t washed off or affected.

Although you can use eye makeup, it is best to gently remove the makeup afterward. Also, make sure that you use No products found.

Brushing your eyelashes gently with a No products found. is one of the best things you can do.

It keeps them separated, prevents tangles, and keeps them in their curled position.

Lastly, you should avoid facial beauty treatments especially right after the procedure. Remember that it should not get wet and exposed to various chemicals.

If you want to have facial treatments, do them first before getting a lash lift.
