Did you know that Planet Fitness has over 2000 clubs all around the world? That makes them one of the largest fitness club franchises due to their number of locations and members.
It would be very useful to gain access to any of their club locations especially if you tend to travel a lot! So can you go to any Planet Fitness and work out there?
Yes, you can go to any Planet Fitness location and they will welcome you there. Depending on what kind of membership you have, you may be able to work out there for free.
Let’s discuss using Planet Fitness clubs other than your home club where you’ve had your membership.
Planet Fitness Membership
Planet Fitness is a good option if you want to improve your health. They are beginner-friendly and welcome everyone, especially the beginners to their gym. After all, they are the Judgement-Free Zone!
They have two types of membership, the classic membership and the Black Card membership which gives you more perks.
However, the Black Card membership tops that off with additional benefits such as unlimited use of tanning beds, total body enhancement machines, hydromassage beds, unlimited guest privileges, discounts on various products, and access to any of the Planet Fitness clubs all over the world.
If you are thinking about which membership to get, the Black Card membership would be better if you tend to travel a lot and would need to use different clubs in different locations.
In that way, you won’t be charged any additional fee when you do.
Can You Go To Any Planet Fitness?
Do you often travel across the country or the world? You still want to get those workouts in, so finding Planet Fitness nearby could be one of your priorities if you’re a member there.
Planet Fitness boasts of having the benefit of being able to use any of their clubs all around the world for free if you have a Black Card membership. That is quite useful for those who tend to travel a lot or those who have multiple clubs around their area.
Although Black Card members can go to any Planet Fitness and work out for free, most of the clubs, excluding their home club, have a limit on how much you could use per month.
They generally only welcome you to use their club up to 10 times per month. That number is typically good enough if you are just traveling and spending a few days in that specific area.
However, if you are extending your stay, you may need more than 10 visits per month at that specific club. In that case, they may ask you to pay a fee so you can continuously use their gym without the limit.
As for those who have a classic membership, you can also use the Planet Fitness club aside from your home club.
However, you have to pay a franchise fee of somewhere around $5 for each day of use.
In case you want to purchase something from a club that’s not your home club, some members also note that the transaction is not as seamless as doing it from your home club.
That’s because they don’t have all your information.
If you really need to use a different club than your home club for a longer period of time, a good alternative is to have your membership transferred.
Can I Go To A Different Planet Fitness Multiple Times A Day?
When you’ve been sent out for work at a different location, you may have more free time in a day to do whatever you want.
If you think you are running out of things to do and want to visit the gym multiple times a day, you can certainly do that at Planet Fitness. There is no limit as to how many times you can go there per day.
You can work out early in the morning, head to work, then work out again in the afternoon if you like.
Just make sure not to exhaust yourself too much that it becomes a health hazard on your part.
However, there is a limit on how much you can use various machines like the tanning beds.
You can’t use it multiple times in a day even if you have a Black Card membership. For obvious health and safety reasons, tanning bed use is limited.
Can I Transfer Home Clubs?
Even if you have a Black Card membership at Planet Fitness and can use any other club, there is a limit to the number of times you can use your membership.
That limit could be a problem if you are moving to that certain area for an extended stay, or permanently.
Transferring home clubs is a good option for those with either classic or Black Card membership. There is no fee that you have to pay to transfer your membership.
You can do this in two different ways. The first is by going through the online portal.
To do this, you have to visit the homepage and log in to your account. Find the option that says “Transfer” on the menu option that’s located in the upper-right corner of the page. Click on it and you’ll be directed to the transfer page.
From there, you have to fill in information such as your key tag number, email address, and other important information.
Confirm all the information you just placed and you’re done.
Alternatively, you can also visit the front desk of your home gym or the gym you want to transfer to. You just have to talk to them and tell them why you’d like to transfer your location or home club.
There is a limit to how often you can transfer your home club information. For the classic members, they are only allowed to switch home clubs every 90 days.
However, you can still try to talk to the clubs. Some of them will allow more frequent transfers if you explain your situation to them.
It will vary on the management but there is a good chance you’ll have luck if you ask nicely.
