Planet Fitness isn’t your ordinary gym. It’s not even a gym, it’s a “fitness club”. PF differs from other gyms due to the gym equipment and machines that they have, as well as their facilities. They often also lack some things that you’d usually find in other gyms like a scale, bench press, or a pool.

Nevertheless, they still offer a great deal with their membership. One of them is the Planet Fitness Guest Policy. Can you bring a guest to Planet Fitness?

Yes, the Planet Fitness guest policy is pretty solid, assuming you have the Black Card membership level.

In this article, we’ll go over everything you need to know about the Planet Fitness guest policy. We will tell you about the requirements that the guest should meet and what guests can do under this policy.

The Black Card membership also allows you to bring a guest to Planet Fitness for free, but if you’re on a lower membership level, you cannot bring guests.

Can you bring a guest to Planet Fitness With the $10 membership?

You cannot bring guests with a no-commitment membership.

Planet Fitness offers affordable gym membership for as low as $10 a month, depending on the location of the gym. This is the classic membership and it only allows you access to the different gym equipment and machines.

On the other hand, you can upgrade your membership to the Black Card membership level and reap the benefits.

This upgrade is more expensive but offers a lot of perks. These include the amazing Total Body Enhancement machines, their relaxing hydromassage beds, tanning booths/spray tanning, plus you’ll also be able to use the membership at any Planet Fitness gym.

Sweet!

The Black Card membership also allows you to bring a guest to Planet Fitness for free.

If you have a Black Card Membership, you are allowed to bring one guest who will be with you at all times while you are working out. Your guest is also free to use the gym equipment and work out with you using free weights, treadmills, rowing machines, etc.

This is great for those who want to bring a buddy with them so they can work out together.

How to Bring a Guest to Planet Fitness

You’ll need to show your Black Card Membership to the PF employee at the desk. Your guest will also need to provide identification, and they will need to sign some basic forms.

You can choose to bring anyone with you as your guest at Planet Fitness as long as you have the Black Card membership. They have to be of the legal age of 18*. They should also bring their photo ID with them for verification.

If they do not have an ID with them, they will not be allowed to enter.

*Planet Fitness also allows guests as young as 13 years old as long as the account owner is their parent or legal guardian. You also have to make sure they stay with you all the time and don’t wander around. In a way, the Black Card will act as a “sort of” Planet Fitness Family Plan.

If they do not have an ID with them, they will not be allowed to enter.

Note, that you should make sure your guest follows the Planet Fitness dress code. Proper clothing plus socks and shoes with closed toes should be worn at the gym area. Make sure your guest knows the basic rules of Planet Fitness such as not triggering the Lunk Alarm.

Also, guests are only allowed to stay in the gym while you are there. You should not leave them there or ask them to meet you inside. They won’t be allowed to enter if you’re not physically present there.

How many guests can I bring to Planet Fitness?

You are only allowed to bring one guest with you every time you visit. However, you can have different guests each time you visit, or bring the same guest every time.

What Are The Guest Privileges?

The guest you bring is allowed to use the gym area. They can use the different gym machines and equipment as they wish. They can also use the shower area. Additionally, Planet Fitness also offers free Wi-Fi access so they will also be able to use that.

Due to gyms being owned and operated individually as franchises, the guest privileges may also vary a bit by location. Some will allow guests to use other Black Card amenities and perks, while most do not.

Tanning booths, hydro massage chairs, Beauty Angel Enhancement machines, and haircuts are some of the additional amenities and perks. If you want to know exactly what your guests are allowed to use in your particular gym, it is best to call them up for verification.

As a Black Card member, you get access to all Planet Fitness gyms. Most gyms will welcome your guest. However, do note that some gyms may not allow your guest if they are not your home gym.

Also, you should remember that there is a 10-visit-per-month limit when you go to a gym other than your home gym.

That limit also applies to your guest.

Final Thoughts

It can be hard to squeeze in the cost of a gym membership if you’re in college or in a low-paying job. But taking advantage of the PF guest policy may be a way to save. Being able to bring a guest for free whenever you workout at Planet Fitness is a great perk included in the Black Card membership. However, you should make sure that your guest meets the requirements.

Also, there is a limit to one guest per visit and there are gyms that do not allow guests to use other amenities offered in the gym aside from the gym equipment and machines plus the showers.

If you’re able to, try to grab your PF membership when they’re running a No Commitment promo!
