What Are Magnetic Eyelashes?

Magnetic Lashes

Want to add more volume or length to your lashes? You can do that by going through an eyelash extension procedure or you can simply use fake lashes whenever you want to get that extra.

Applying fake lashes is great especially if you aren’t sure if you’d really like to have eyelash extensions semi-permanently. At the end of the day, you can easily take them off, clean them and reuse them again.

There are lots of fake lashes available in the market today. Traditionally, you attach them to your eyelashes by using eyelash glue. However, today we are offered an alternative.

Magnetic eyelashes are relatively new eyelash products in the markets. Best of all, you don’t have to use eyelash glue at all to apply them over your lashes.

This type of fake eyelashes is fitted with tiny magnets that make them stick either to each other or to a specially formulated magnetic eyeliner.

You don’t have to worry about the magnets on your eyelashes because they are safe. Also, they are really small enough so it doesn’t really feel heavy at all. Most of those who use them feel like they are similar in weight to other fake lashes.

Types Of Magnetic Eyelashes

There are several ways on how you can apply your magnetic eyelashes. That will depend on what type of magnetic eyelashes you get. So before we discuss how to put them on, let’s first look at the different types of magnetic eyelashes available in the market.

Double Strip Magnetic Eyelashes

Dual Strip Lashes

Double strip magnetic eyelashes are those that come in pairs for each eye. You have the top part and the bottom part.

These two strips both have magnets and will stick together with your natural eyelashes in between them. They come in various styles, lengths, and volumes.

Single Strip Magnetic Eyelashes

Single Strip Magnetic Lashes

The other type of magnetic eyelashes available in the market is those that are made of a single strip. Instead of two strips attaching to each other, this type of magnetic eyelashes sticks to a magnetic eyeliner.

The magnetic eyeliner has magnetic particles included, which the magnets attach to. For some people, this is easier to use and put on.

You just draw a line with the eyeliner where you want the eyelashes to attach to.

How To Put On Magnetic Eyelashes

Magnetic Lashes

There are three ways you can put on magnetic eyelashes, even if there are only two types of lashes!

If you are using the magnetic lashes that come in a pair for each eye, you could attach the eyelashes either with your bare hands or with a magnetic eyelash applicator.

On the other hand, if you have the type that comes with a magnetic eyeliner, you can attach the magnetic eyelashes by using the eyeliner first then the magnetic eyelashes.

Keep in mind that it’s a good idea before you start to choose the right lashes for your eye shape.

Using Your Bare Hands

You first need to select the right magnetic eyelashes for the look that you want to achieve. Depending on the size of your eyes, you may or may not want to trim it a little bit from the edges.

Don’t be afraid of trimming it, just don’t trim it where the magnets are. There are different magnetic eyelashes manufacturers that offer them in various lengths.

Once you’ve applied your makeup, you could apply some mascara. A coat of mascara can help you better blend the fake lashes.

After prepping your eyelashes, get the top part of the magnetic eyelashes. You can use your hands or regular tweezers for this.

The top part is placed on top of your lashes. Make sure that it is aligned with your lashes and the edge is as close as you can get to your lash line.

Once the top lashes are in position, get the bottom lash strip and gently place them underneath your natural lashes. You will notice that the magnets latch together and voila, they’re attached.

If you find that the magnetic eyelashes aren’t properly linked, you can remove them and try again. Be careful removing the magnetic eyelashes. Start from one side and pull them apart gently.

Using Magnetic Eyelash Tweezers

Applying the magnetic eyelashes can take some getting used to. You need a few practices to get the upper and lower strips to perfectly line up as you wish.

However, there is a tool that can make it a lot easier for you and that is the magnetic eyelash tweezers . With this tool, you don’t have to place the upper lashes on top of your lashes first.

You place them at the same time.

Sometimes, you can get caught off guard when the bottom lashes suddenly attach to the upper lashes as you are trying to position them. Sometimes, that could be the reason they might look misaligned.

The magnetic eyelash tool looks like an eyelash tweezer. To use it, you place the top strip on the top part of the tweezer. The eyelash hairs should be towards the handle and the part with the magnet stays at the edge.

You attach the bottom lashes to the lower part of the tweezer. You are going to use this tool to easily place your natural lashes in the middle of the two magnetic lashes.

Once the top and bottom parts are attached to the tool, you can now bring it towards your eye. Your natural lashes should be in between and you should reach near your lash line before you clamp down to allow the magnets to stick together.

You don’t need to be too forceful when you clamp down on your natural eyelashes. The magnet will naturally stick together when they are close enough.

Although some people find this an easier way to do attach false eyelashes, you might need to do it a few times to be successful. Sometimes, you might accidentally close the tool and make the magnetic eyelashes stick together before you reach near the lash line. All you need is a little more practice.

Using A Magnetic Eyeliner

Another way to attach the magnetic eyelashes is to use a magnetic eyeliner. The magnetic eyelashes  that comes with a magnetic eyeliner are very easy to use.

Once you’ve done your makeup, you can use magnetic eyeliner as your eyeliner. Draw it near your lashline. Magnetic eyeliners are as pigmented as regular liquid eyeliners so you can use them as an alternative.

After applying your magnetic eyeliner, it is very important to let it dry thoroughly. Don’t attempt to attach your magnetic eyelashes when it is not yet completely dry. If you do, the eyeliner will stick to the magnets of the eyelashes then fall off.

You wouldn’t be able to make them stick unless you clean up the magnetic lashes then reapply the magnetic eyeliner. Once it dries up, the magnetic eyelashes will stick to the line that you just made.

How To Remove Magnetic Eyelashes

When it’s time to remove your magnetic lashes, you don’t just yank it off your eye! That could lead you to damage your natural eyelashes and magnetic eyelashes as well.

For double-strip magnetic eyelashes, you should gently pull the magnets apart. Don’t pull the magnetic eyelashes while they are attached to each other or else you can pull out some of your natural eyelashes too. Then you’ll be stuck searching for Do Magnetic Lashes Work If You Don’t Have Eyelashes.

Instead, start from the outer corner of your eye and pull them apart. In that way, you don’t put pressure on your natural lashes while removing them.

As for single strip magnetic eyelashes, you can do the similar motion of peeling it off starting from the outer corner of your eye towards the inner one. Do this slowly and gently. Also, make sure that you are pulling the band of the lashes and not the hairs of the fake eyelashes to prevent ruining them.

After removing your magnetic eyelashes, it is important to clean them afterward. After all, they could have some of your makeup on them.

You don’t want them to be harboring bacteria that could infect your eye if you don’t clean and store them properly after use.
