Students have tons of expenses. Not all students are born with a silver spoon and even those who are still struggle to deal with expenses during college!
Although saving on expenses is a priority, that doesn’t mean you should also sacrifice your fitness by skipping the gym. That’s why many students look for student discounts on a gym.
Equinox is a premier high-end health and fitness facility. So does Equinox have a student discount? Sadly, Equinox doesn’t offer a student discount.
However, there are other discounts that you can get to save some money if you really want a membership there.

Equinox: The Luxurious Gym
Ask anyone about Equinox and they’ll tell you about the amazing experience, high-end amenities, and, of course, the high membership prices. Equinox is well known as the gym you need to get a second mortgage to join! But for many, the value is worth the price.
However, that high gym membership plan is considered worth it for all the services, amenities like Scandanavian saunas and basketball courts, and equipment that they have to offer.
Did you know that they have eucalyptus towels there and that celebrities like Shawn Mendes work out there?
Usually, the starting price for the membership is about $2,200 a year. However, that will only give you access to a single Equinox gym.
Getting the premium that is at about $3,120 a month and that won’t still get you to the most luxurious gyms they have. For that, you’d have to have a “destination membership” that would cost about $3,600 a year.
Even further down the line to the most expensive membership are those that offer more exclusive benefits. That will cost about 5,200 a year.
As you can see, the gym membership prices are really high and for most students, that is completely out of reach.
They’re not interested in cutting membership fees and don’t participate in programs like Silver Sneakers.
Does Equinox Have Student Discount?
The high membership price at this gym chain means that they have exclusive and luxurious perks that anyone would be happy to have.
If only there is a way to make the membership more affordable!

Most gym owners understand that students need to work out. It is a way to help boost their confidence and also help with their mental health.
And many students may use the gym either in the mid-day or late at night, as they often have flexible schedules.
Unfortunately, even if many gyms offer student discounts, Equinox doesn’t. Their brand is all about exclusivity, and they only want those who can pay the high price of admission.
Add that to their awesome services, high-quality equipment, and luxurious amenities, and you make the members feel special enough to pay more. They would feel that the high prices are worth it.
Equinox Discounts And Promotions
Do you really want to work out at Equinox but don’t have the budget for their membership fee? You’re not alone, many would certainly love to work out there if only money wasn’t an issue!
The student discount is a dead end. It is only rumored that Equinox has one, but they don’t. However, that doesn’t mean there is no hope to get a discount there.
First of all, you can get a discount if you catch their promotional period.
Sometimes during the summer or winter, they occasionally offer a discount by waiving the initiation fee. However, the cost of the monthly membership still remains the same.
And once you’ve graduated, you can search for a job at a company that they are in partnership with. Some companies have an agreement with them and could offer a company discount.
Some company discounts are great, but most are not a major savings compared to the cost of Equinox membership. Many are limited and members are only given access to 1-2 gyms.
Alternatives To Equinox
As a student, it would really be great if you could work out at Equinox. However, the membership fee isn’t really student-friendly. But that doesn’t mean that you should completely skip on making yourself fit and healthy.
The best thing to do is to find alternative gyms that offer student discounts. There are a few good ones that you could choose from like Anytime Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, and Gold’s Gym.
Apart from that, there are also other gyms, which may not offer student discounts but still have affordable gym membership fees like Planet Fitness or LA Fitness.
They may not have eucalyptus towels. But you will still be able to get fit!
