LA Fitness is a fantastic gym franchise with many happy members. But sometimes it’s time to break up with your gym. But you can’t ghost your gym, and gyms really don’t want to let you go!

There are many reasons why you might want to cancel your membership, and you are entitled to! The question here now is how to cancel LA Fitness membership?

Many people have reported very frustrating experiences canceling various memberships, including Planet Fitness, Gold’s Gym, Anytime Fitness, OrangeTheory, etc. You have to spin some golden yarn, give away your firstborn, and sacrifice a goat. Oh, and you’ll pay for the privilege of canceling.

Or you can just forget to cancel and keep paying those monthly fees for something you’re not using…

Today, we will help you figure out the best way for you to break up with LA Fitness.

How To Cancel LA Fitness Membership

No matter your reason, you have the option to cancel LA Fitness membership. However, some people may find the process too complicated or too tedious that they let themselves get charged until they find the time to focus on the cancellation procedure.

We’ve all been there.

Sure, the gym loves it. Make the process painful enough and people will procrastinate and the gym will keep raking in the sweet coin.

That said, canceling your LA Fitness membership is relatively painless compared to some competing gyms. You just have to know how to do it properly.

LA Fitness membership can be canceled at any time.

However, it is best to cancel the contract at least 5 days before the next invoice. If not, you will probably be billed for the next month before your membership cancelation triggers.

Of course, even if you’ve already canceled your membership, you can still use the gym for the rest of the month as long as it is covered by your payment.

There are four ways to cancel LA Fitness. They are:

  • Cancel in person
  • Cancel through mail
  • Cancel through email
  • Cancel over the phone

Canceling your LA Fitness membership is relatively painless compared to some competing gyms. You just have to know how to do it properly.

Cancel Membership In Person

The most effective and direct ways to cancel LA Fitness membership (or any other gym membership) is by doing it in person. In that way, you get to talk to the staff and tell them exactly why, when, and how you want to cancel.

Just make sure that before you do this, you are prepared to stick to your decision to cancel your membership.

Sometimes the staff may try to talk you out of cancelation. They may offer you alternatives like freezing your membership or giving a discount in order to delay your cancelation.

You could take the option that they are offering if you wish. But if you really want to cancel the membership, then you must be firm with it.

It’s a breakup.

Eventually, they’ll agree and process your cancellation if they see that you are firm with it.

To do this, just go to your local gym where you have your membership and tell the staff that you want to cancel the membership. They will go over your reasons and membership status.

Then, they’ll give you a cancellation form that you have to fill out. Even better, you may also print out their cancellation form, fill it out, and bring it with you when you cancel in person. This makes the cancellation quicker and shows you are serious.

Once the papers are submitted, they’ll be able to process your request.

Cancel Membership Through the Mail

Another way to cancel the LA Fitness membership is through the mail. This is a good way for those who don’t want to cancel in person, or for those who have already moved away.

To do this, you first have to go to the website and log in to your account. From there, go to your account information and select the “cancellation form”. You have to print it out and fill it with the necessary information.

Once you’re done with the form, you should mail it to them at PO Box 54170 Irvine, California.

To confirm your cancellation, you should call their customer service after a few days after sending your cancellation form.

Cancel Membership Through Email

Another effective way to cancel the LA Fitness membership is through email. You can do this by sending an email to [email protected]. Your email should state your intention of canceling your membership.

You should include important information in your email such as your full name, birth date, email, phone number, billing address, gym location, as well as the last four numbers of the credit card that you used for the membership.

Remember that this could take longer to process as compared to the other methods but you can still use it to cancel the membership.

Most other companies do not allow you to cancel through electronic means like email or an app. This is a nice feature of LA Fitness!

Cancel Membership Through The Phone

You can begin the cancelation process over the phone, but you’ll still need to send them a form.

Compared to sending an email, this is a quicker process. And best of all, you can immediately confirm the cancelation.

You can call up customer service at LA Fitness through their phone number at (949)255-7200. A customer representative will answer and you can tell them that you wish to cancel the membership.

After that, all you have to do is to fill up the cancellation form then mail it to them. Remember that you still have to do send this in order for them to fully cancel your membership.

Common Reasons To Cancel LA Fitness Membership

What’s your reason for canceling your membership? Are you curious to know why others cancel too?

There are many reasons members might choose to cancel their membership. First of all, they might not be able to use the gym membership anymore due to a medical condition: disease, pregnancy, injury, etc.

Another common reason would be because they are moving elsewhere where they don’t have an LA Fitness gym nearby. It is also possible that they found a better gym or they have put together their own home gym and no longer need LA Fitness membership.

There are also some who simply don’t have the time to work out anymore due to life changes. Lastly, there are also some who simply don’t have the budget for it anymore. Perhaps there was a job loss or job change.

It happens.

All are valid reasons. No matter what your reason is, you can certainly cancel your membership. Just make sure to know and follow the process for a smoother, less stressful experience.

Good luck!
