Does OrangeTheory Have Showers?

Most gyms have showers, but the quality and cleanliness vary.

Gyms want their customers to feel comfortable and clean after working out. Showers add value to the gym, especially if they are kept clean, are spacious, multiple in number, and have some amenities.

At essentially all OrangeTheory Fitness locations, showers are available. However, there is no required number of showers for each Franchisee. That’s why they vary from one facility to another.

Additionally, some may also offer free toiletries like body soap, shower gels, shampoo, conditioner, and even towels.

However, not all offer these amenities.

Some only provide towels, while others only provide shower gels and cleansers.

The only way to figure out what the facility near you offers is to call them up or physically visit. In that way, you can be prepared to bring whatever you need if you decide to shower there.

Reasons Why People Take Showers In Public Showers

Showers at gyms are considered public showers because any member can use them. It’s a perk that comes with the membership.

However, not all people are comfortable using gym showers, especially those new to working out.

It may take some getting used to.

One of the main reasons why people choose it is because they… need to.

Let’s say, their schedule for the classes is before they go to work. Instead of heading home once again, it is more convenient for them to take a shower there.

That way, they can prevent themselves from feeling gross at work.

Another reason is for comfort. No one likes to be sweaty and icky. With the classes at OrangeTheory, you’ll surely sweat because your heart rate goes way up.

Taking a shower is a great way to refresh yourself after working out.

Even if it is convenient to take showers at the gym, precautions should still be made.

We’re not trying to scare you out of taking a shower there.

You just have to remember that different people use it and they have something contagious that you don’t want to get.

Tips In Taking A Shower At OTF Gyms

It is perfectly fine to take a shower at public showers like those found at gyms. Many people do it all the time.

However, it is best to take precautions and also be courteous enough for the other members. Here are some tips on what to do if you decide to take a shower at OFT or any other public shower.

Bring Your Own Things

Whether it’s soap or a towel, it is best to bring your own. Even if OFT offers free use of towels or soaps, you don’t know the person who last used it.

Liquid shower gels are fine to use, as they are less likely to be contaminated. However, if you are unsure, it would be best to bring your own stuff.

There are travel-sized toiletries kits  you can purchase and keep in your gym bag.

Microfiber towels  are also great. They are not bulky and they dry up quickly too.

Wear FlipFlops

At home, you would normally shower with your bare feet. However, for public showers, it is best to wear flip-flops. That prevents your feet from possibly acquiring fungal infections that cause athlete’s foot.

Similarly, avoiding showering or walking barefoot may also prevent you from getting other viral or bacterial infections.

Apart from wearing flip-flops, you should also dry your feet quickly to avoid those microorganisms from thriving.

Inspect The Showers

Before you remove your clothes and start to shower, you should first inspect the shower room.

You wouldn’t like to be stuck there shampooing your hair when you really want to get out because you just noticed something icky from a previous guest.

Do It Quickly

Remember that you’re not the only one who is going to use the shower. So make sure you shower quickly.

Don’t do unnecessary things there like apply makeup or shave. It’s best to do those at home.

Leave It Clean

Be courteous enough to leave the bathroom clean. After all, you don’t want to use a bathroom that looks like a mess. Even if there are cleaning staff assigned to it, that isn’t an excuse to leave it messy.

Conclusion

OrangeTheory Fitness facilities have showers. Some even have added amenities like shampoo, shower gels, and towels. They are convenient to use and will help make you feel comfortable after working out.

However, using public showers could also put you at risk of being infected with fungal, viral, or bacterial infections. That doesn’t mean you should totally avoid them. You should just take precautions when using them.
